This Month in Ed Tech History

June 8, 1955- Tim Berners-Lee was born.
Sir Timothy John Berners-Lee is credited with inventing the World Wide Web. While working at CERN in 1989, he proposed a project, based on the concept of hypertext, to facilitate sharing and updating information among researchers. On Christmas Day 1990, he implemented the first successful communication between an HTTP client and server via the Internet. The first Web site built was at CERN and was first put online on August 6, 1991.
